Singing Penis Sets Noise Record

Scientists have discovered that the loudest animal, relative to its size, is the male micronecta, a tiny water boatmen. The micronecta has achieved this record by rubbing its penis on its belly so vigorously that it creates a sound as loud as a hair dryer (about 90 decibels). The act of rubbing body parts together to make noise (stridulation) is common in insects, but we all know what this little perv is really up to. “MOM! Get outta here I’m stridulating!”

If you haven’t already heard enough of your roommate or little brother doing this, you can listen to the micronecta here.
